IAR’s Chief Executive receives recognition for his work

Alan Knight, Chief Executive of IAR, has received the 2003 Animal Welfare Champion Award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

Phyllis Campbell-McRae, Alan Knight, Baroness Gale & Lisa BAlan was presented with the award at a ceremony in the House of Lords on June 20th 2003, by Baroness Gale and Phyllis Campbell-McRae, the UK director of IFAW. The award was for life-time achievement in animal rescue and welfare.

Alan stated that he was "delighted to accept the award on behalf of all those people who work so hard for IAR and British Divers Marine Life Rescue. It’s nice to see a giant like IFAW recognising the smaller charities."

Green Euro-MP calls for end to animals in circuses
Kent's Green Euro-MP has called for an end to the exploitation of wild animals in circuses and expressed her support for the protest by IAR and Animal Aid against the Great British Circus.
