India: Goa : Resident Dogs : Lizzie

Name: Lizzie
Gender: Female
Colour: Brown
Age: 3 years

Funny characteristic: She loves full on hugs, the tighter the better.

LizzieLizzie was found abandoned in Palolem approximately 2 years ago. It was during the time when IAR had a sterilisation camp there so we took her in and made her a centre dog there. When we finished the project in Palolem last year some dogs had settled into the surrounding territory and could be left there. Others, one of which was Lizzie, could not be abandoned and so came to live at the centre in Assagao instead. Lizzie’s best friend for a long time was Sharmili and the pair would always roam around together. Sadly Lizzie never really settled in with the other centre dogs and soon moved down to make the area by the local tea shop her patch. There she has met new friends and she’s no further away than we can pop down for a quick hello during our tea break. Occasionally we still catch her gossiping with Sharmili at the bottom of our road.
