International Animal Rescue
Dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of suffering animals

The aim of International Animal Rescue is to come to the aid of wild and domestic animals with hands-on rescue and rehabilitation.

At International Animal Rescue we do exactly what our name says. We save animals from suffering around the world by:

When we can, we release rescued animals back into the wild. And when that’s not possible, we care for them in our sanctuaries.

With your help, we can save many more animals like these.

Free the dancing bears of India

With your help, 2009 has been one of the most important dates in the history of animal welfare. This year we rescued the very last dancing bears in India!

With our Indian partners Wildlife SOS, we have rescued more than 600 bears. 2009 has been our Year of the Bear in which, with your support, we were able to rescue all the remaining bears and end the cruel practice of dancing bears in India forever.

Rescued dancing bear Percy

Animal welfare history is made in India: The very last dancing bear has now been removed off the streets of India and into our care.

This achievement would not have been possible without full-hearted support and assistance from the Indian Government and the Indian Forestry Department and legislation passed in 1972 by our patron Maneka Gandhi. We applaud the Government for its vital role in achieving this historic success. » BBC news article
